Random Mani + Baby Sis Nails

Hey ladies. Long time no post. 2 weeks today to be exact. My computer has been acting up . I hate this freaking Dell. I haven't even had this laptop for a year and it's given me a plethora of problems. Any who, I haven't painted my nails in about a week. Ohh the horror, lol. Sadly I just haven't had the energy but despite this I've been buying polish like a madwoman. Working seven days straight can do this to you :(

Below are pictures from a random mani from about a month ago. I do remember the bright blue is Sinful Colors Endless Blue and the pink glitter shard topper is Fishin' For Fun. I cant remember the other color.

My baby sister's nails I did a long while ago.

I really was happy with how the bows turned out. Too bad my picture is blurry. I'm sending my computer in for repair next week so I'll be back to regular posting after I receive it back. Until next time ladies!

May 10th Match OOTD

Hey girls. Today's challenge is to match my nails with an OOTD ( outfit of the day). I'm just going to work today. So I decided to use my birthday dress as inspiration for the outfit part. Just so happens my work uniform is black and white too. So I guess my dress isn't too much away from my "ootd" , my work uniform lol.

I used Sally Hansen Polar Bare as the base I didn't want to use a stark white because I wanted something very calm after my neon craze. This polish was untried in my stash. What a lovely surprise it ended up being. I really like how squishy it looks. I then used my dotting tool to dot on some very large dots. I probably should have used the smaller end of the tool. I'm pleased with how they turned out though.

Have a great weekend!

Neon Clouds

Hey ladies .. I decided to finally try a cloud mani. I was inspired by the very talented Nailside. I can't believe I waited so long to try this type of nail art. It was so easy to do. I really liked the finished product. My base color is Orly Mayhem Mentality. The clouds are made from colors by Color Club. The blue is called Bright Night and the teal is Abyss. Both are from the new Kaleidoscope collection. I won three color club collections on Instagram. I was one happy girl, actually I still am shocked.

Cya, Tomorrow with my OOTD nails.

Leftover Neon Nails (fail)

Hey girls. I originally started with a gradient using China Glaze Sun Kissed and Orly Skinny Dip. My gradients always look wonky too me. I keep trying with the same results. Practice makes perfect I guess. I never feel like I can wear my gradients alome so I ALWAYS cover them up with glitter. The glitter I used was China Glaze Graffiti Glitter. Graffiti Glitter is an emerald green color. It came out looking black in my photo's though.

Cya next post!

May 7th Neon Nails

Hey girls ... I totally skipped the challenge for the 4th which was Star Wars. I've never seen the movie's and there was no way i was wearing star wars them nails on my birthday lol. I turned 23 on this past Saturday. I didn't even get to do the fun mani I envisioned. I'm gonna do a belated birthday mani soon. My nails on my birthday were bare. All I did was run around but at least I enjoyed myself.

This color is VERY bright. It's Mayhem Mentality from the new summer 2013 Mash Up collection by Orly. It's neon but its not like a fluorescent orange like so many other neon oranges out there. It leans more to being coral but its still considered a neon. I'd say this polish reminds me of China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy except this color is orange. I really love this color.

2 coats no top coat.

  7. I’m a daddy’s girl and grandma’s baby!

11 Questions From Fairly Charming

1.How many polishes do you have in your stash?
Approximately 510 polish babies.

2.What are your current lemmings/polishes you are dying to have?
I really want Lights of Emerald City by OPI. Cherry Pie, Strawberry Fields, and White cap are some of my top China Glaze polishes I want.

3.What is your fave type of polish to wear (e.g. glitter, creme, holo, jelly, glass flecked, etc.)?
I love a good glass fleck. I've fallen in love with Running In Circles by China Glaze.

4.What is your favorite nail art technique to do?
I love doing gradients.

5.How long have you been painting nails/into nail polish?
My obsession with nail polish really took off in middle school. I would always paint my toes different colors each week. I never really paid that much attention to my nails. I was annoyed that I couldn't paint my right hand without it being messy so I’d just leave them with out polish. Then in 2011 I cut all my relaxed hair off and was left with this little afro. I absolutely hated my hair that short. So I got into painting my nails again and learning how to paint my right hand. It boosted my self-esteem and made me feel better about my hair.

6.What are some of your favorite blogs to follow?

7.Which Summer polishes are you most looking forward to purchasing?
I want the entire China Glaze Sunsational summer neon collection. I adore neons. Orly always comes out with good summer colors so i'll be picking a few of those up.

8.What is a popular fashion trend that you with would disappear into oblivion?
Cut out leggings and sheer dresses. They look so trashy in my opinion.

9.What's your favorite TV show?
Gosh this is a hard one. If I had to pick I’d say Sex & The City. I started watching after they series went off. I fell in love.

10.What's your favorite movie?
Pretty woman . I love, love, love this movie. I can watch it over and over.

11.Do you hate me for nominating you because you'll now have to go thru this time-consuming process yourself??  :P
Nope. I’m glad you did. I find it very sweet that little ol me was chosen :) I’m glad I was able to get my post up in a timely manner because I can procrastinate like no other.

Flower Nails

Hey girls .. Very late post today. I always post in the morning. I'm gonna attempt to do this Californails "Totally Doable I Have a Life" challenge. I follow this account on instagram. Lol, I just love that name. I attempted to do a challenge back in 2011 and it was everyday and I could just not keep up. Plus this challenge will help get me back into doing nail art.   I really need to make a instagram for my blog. I used seven different polishes for this nail art and I forgot to take pictures of the polishes. If you'd like to know the name I'll be happy to let ya know. The base color I used is China Glaze Kinetic Candy. Such a lovely shade of blue.

Overall I'm okay with how the flowers turned out. I didn't want to make the design to busy because my nails aren't very long. The two yellow polishes I used were too similar. You can't really see the outline. Well that's all folks. Heyyyyyyyyyyy to all my new followers :)

Hard Candy - Party Central

Hey... I'm really loving the new Hard Candy polishes. I recently picked up Party Central, and Black Tie Optional up at Walmart. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first seen them. Every Walmart I visited never had the colors I wanted. The only thing I'm not really liking is this tiny bottle 7.9 mL for $3.99. I sucked it up though and bought two to see if I would like them, because I've never tried Hard Candy polishes before. I really enjoyed wearing Party Central. This may sound cheesy. When I wore this polish I couldn't help but keep staring down at my nails because it was like a mini party lol. Party Central is a very fun glitter. It mainly features blue, purple, teal, white, and pink glitters. I wore it over Sally Hansen - I Pink I Can, and China Glaze - Blue Sparrow. This was also my first time wearing Blue Sparrow. It dries matte and looks dull but with topcoat it really pops.

Cartoon Nails!

Hey... I used China Glaze Sea Spray and acrylic paint for the details. I don't know why I thought outlining my nails was gonna be a piece of cake. It was more challenging than I thought. The biggest problem I had was making the lines too thick in certain area's. It's okay for my first try. I'll remember to use much thinner lines next time. It's okay for my first try. I got this idea from CutePolish's tutorial.

Color Club Blue-ming & Sally Hansen Celeb City

Hey.. Today's mani is my first attempt at nail art after quite some time. I will admit I'm a little rusty now that I haven't been putting my skills to use and practicing. Blue-ming is just gorgeous to me. It's a mint turquoise creme from the 2012 Spring Blossoming CollectionI used two coats. Celeb City is a silvery foil. It's also great for stamping. It's technically a one coater but I did two coats because of my application. I think these colors look great together.

I didn't have a particular theme in mine . I just started drawing and this is what I ended up with. I used a Milani nail art striper. My middle finger was supposed to be an arrow but that was an epic fail. So I turned it into a diamond instead.

My Stash

Hey.. Today's post is all about my polish babies and I took a lot of pictures so this post is indeed pic heavy. My first storage post from 2011 can be found here. Back in 2011 I had just bought my first Melmer now I have two. I  bought the second one last year around May. Still haven't decorated them. I realized I would have to take them apart to paint them . That's just simply not gonna happen. The instructions said it will only take 30 minutes to assemble. It took me almost two hours. So taking them apart is no bueno. At the beginning of this year I made a spread sheet. As of today I have 506 polish babies. I have the most Sinful Colors (80). Sinful Colors is my favorite drugstore brand. China Glaze is in second place with (67) . My favorite "high end" brand. I say that with quotations because things get way more high end with the more expensive brands.

My favorite drawer, my Pinks.

 Blue's are my 2nd favorite.

I'm not a big fan of red polishes but you surely cant tell by this picture. There slowly growing on on. I feel very feminine when wearing red polish.

My "mani" basket" . My base and top coat. I use Seche Clear and Seche Vite .Spray bottle for my alcohol. Applicator bottle filled with acetone.

This Onyx Professional remover thing is awesome. It removes glitter faster than any other method I've tried. You just stick your fingers all in at once and rub your nails vigorously against the bristles.

Not the most appealing picture. But I wanted to show you the inside . When it gets really dirty and filthy looking I dump it all out and fill it with more acetone. If you love glitter like me you might wanna give this a try.

Sally Hansen - All Fired Up!

Hey .. Today I'm showing you guys one of my favorite reds. Its called All Fired Up from the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Line. It's marketed as being 5 Steps in 1 Bottle: Base Coat, Strengthener, Growth Treatment, Color and Top Coat. I haven't personally been able to forgo wearing base and top coat because I'm so used to polishing my nails with rather than not. I love the Complete Salon Manicure line. When I wore this color for the first time I got 7 days wear without chips. That rarely happens with my chip-tastic nails. I was very impressed.  It has a rather wide brush. I love that I don't have to clean up much using this brush. I'd say All Fired Up is a crelly ( creme and jelly). I just love this color. I know it's not super unique but I just think it looks great with my skin tone.

Rainstorm & Water You Waiting For

Hey.. This mani was inspired by Nails Beautiqued. She wore the exact same colors. I liked the combination so much I decided to give it a whirl. I've had China Glaze - Water You Waiting for quite some time. I didn't really like it that much. I only picked it up from Sally's because it was on clearance.

Sinful Colors - Rainstorm is dusty blue. I only applied one coat.  They surely picked an appropriate name because this polish does remind me of a rain storm. How cheesy!

China Glaze -Water You Waiting For is a very fine micro glitter. It has small pieces of green , and purple which can barely be seen. I'm still not in love with this WYWF,  its still "okay" in my opinion.  I think I'll like it better over a bright or baby blue. I just adore those two shades of blue the most.

Ruby Wings - Moonstone

Moonstone is a baby blue color changing polish. It changes color once you go outside. Once outside it changes into a soft muted purple. I was surprised that the bottle only shifted a little once outside. I thought it would shift completely into the purple color.  I purchased this color from Burlington Coat Factory for 5.99. I was surprised that they carried them out of all the places I've looked. I only bought one. I wish I would have grabbed a couple more. I enjoy color changing things, lol. I have this Coca Cola shirt that changes colors when you go outside. That tee shirt is my absolute favorite because of that effect.

It would be awesome if  a company was able to make a polish that gives you the ombre/gradation effect. That would be cool.

Hola, my lovely readers that are still here after my long, long, hiatus. I haven't blogged for many reasons. The main reason being , I'm a bit hard on myself sometimes. So I just decided not to continue to blog. Over the past year though, I've missed it so much. So I'm back. Now on to the nails...

I recently made a spreadsheet for my polishes , because sometimes I would buy a polish I already owned. So after my spreadsheet was completed I couldn't believe the number of Untrieds I had. So  I decided I would "try" to use one or two untrieds for every mani. I'm not exactly happy with the colors . I just grabbed and polished. I used China Glaze - Beauty Within from the 2012 United In Purpose collection. Funky Fingers - Mrs. Mint , and Finger Paints Are You Hoppy? from the new Wild About Spring collection. Are You Hoppy is a lavender Glitter Shard Topper. I had application problems with AYH , this polish could definitely use thinner. Some of the pieces were very large and didn't lay flat. Two coats of topcoat would probably lay the pieces down flat. But ain't nobody got time for that.
